Company: Foremore
Place: Amsterdam
Job type: Full-time
Foremore is a fast-growing on-demand delivery company focused on delivering building materials from merchants to contractors. Visit our website, foremore.com, to learn more about our services.
For the first time we're excited to invite a product engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. We’re looking for someone who wants to understand customer’s problems and have the ability to work on all sides of the product to produce a solution. Our drivers and our platform are already fixing our customer’s problems but we believe there is soooo much more our platform can do to provide the best logistics experience for building materials merchants.
What you’ll be doing:
- No surprise here but your main task will be to build new features and improve existing ones based on customer research, feedback, and data. You’ll contribute to both backend and frontend development (and sometimes even design) to bring a fantastic product to our users.
- To truly understand what to build, you’ll need to understand our merchants, their contractors, and our internal processes. This involves some hands-on product research—visiting customer locations, talking with our users, and even joining deliveries on occasion.
- Many of our customers use a growing list of tools to power their businesses, and we want to build integrations to connect seamlessly with ERPs, eCommerce website builders, and other third-party systems to streamline the delivery process.
- To keep the foundations of our product sturdy you’ll be working on our internal developer tools and infrastructure to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability of the platform, supporting a great experience for our team and customers as our user base grows.
- We’re exploring ways to integrate LLMs into our platform to boost productivity for our users. You’ll help ideate, develop, and optimize AI-driven features that provide real-time support and insights, making processes more efficient for our customers.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails (or a similar framework like Django). Familiarity with frontend development (especially with JavaScript frameworks like StimulusJS or similar) will also help you work across the full stack.
- As part of a small, often remote team, you’ll need strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with all team members.
- As a key player in our early-stage team, you’ll take ownership of your projects, drive them to completion, and adapt quickly to the changing needs of a growing startup.
- A genuine interest in understanding and solving customer challenges; you thrive in an environment where you can see the impact of your work in real-world applications.
- English speaker.
